Machine Learning Intern

Conducted research as part of the Machine Learning team within the Mobility & Services Group of Aptiv (formerly nuTonomy).

Designed a single-shot instance segmentation framework with the director of machine learning for fast instance-aware semantic segmentation to be used in the autonomous driving platform.

Implemented code in PyTorch and conducted experiments on MS COCO. Achieved strong baseline results.

Presented research from summer as well as my previous work in object detection and capsule networks to machine learning team.

Upon completion of the course, one other team member and I were hired to upgrade, extended, and refactor the program to encompass more of C++ functionality.

My primary focus on the project was the abstract representation of a memory diagram in C++ and the conversion of that to Scheme, as that was the desired output format for uploading to our wiki.
